TSLA, MSTR, or NVDA — directly into your PAIR token’s on-chain configuration. This anchors your token’s narrative to a publicly traded company and connects it to stock market data signals that can inform buyback mechanics.
What a Stock Pairing Does
When you add a stock ticker to a PAIR, you are declaring a narrative relationship between your token and that equity. This serves two purposes:-
Narrative anchoring. The stock ticker becomes part of the PAIR formula displayed on-chain and in the PAIR app, making the thematic connection explicit and discoverable. For example,
@elonmusk × TSLAsignals a token built around Elon Musk’s relationship with Tesla. - Buyback signal. The PAIR protocol integrates stock market data to enable buyback mechanics tied to stock price signals. When trading fees flow into the buyback bucket, the stock pairing identifies which asset or signal is referenced for those buyback triggers.
Stock market data integration is part of the PAIR protocol roadmap. Some aspects of data-driven buyback triggering may be in active development. Features available at any given time will be indicated in the PAIR app. The stock ticker you enter is always stored on-chain as a narrative pairing, regardless of the live status of automated data features.
Example: @elonmusk × TSLA
The PAIR formula@elonmusk × TSLA creates a token anchored to both the X creator @elonmusk and Tesla’s publicly traded equity. The pairing tells the market — and the protocol — that this token’s narrative is built around Elon Musk’s role at Tesla.
Adding a memecoin (e.g., DOGE) produces the full three-part formula: @elonmusk × TSLA × DOGE, combining all three narrative layers in a single on-chain primitive.
Adding a Stock Ticker During PAIR Creation
During the PAIR launch flow, you will find an optional field for a stock ticker pairing. Enter the ticker symbol exactly as it appears on its exchange (e.g.,TSLA, MSTR, AAPL). The PAIR formula shown on the confirmation screen will update to reflect the ticker you entered.
At least one pairing — either a stock ticker or a memecoin — is required in addition to your X creator handle. The stock pairing alone is sufficient to meet this requirement.
Limitations and Supported Tickers
Supported exchanges and ticker formats
Supported exchanges and ticker formats
The PAIR protocol targets major publicly traded equities. The specific list of supported exchanges and the exact ticker format required (e.g., whether exchange prefixes are needed) will be indicated in the PAIR app during the launch flow. Enter the ticker as it is commonly recognized in public markets.
Data latency and availability
Data latency and availability
Stock market data is sourced from third-party market data providers. Latency between real-world price changes and on-chain signal availability will vary. The PAIR protocol does not guarantee real-time data. Data-dependent features such as automated buyback triggers may have additional latency considerations.
Non-trading hours
Non-trading hours
Stock markets operate on defined trading hours and are closed on weekends and public holidays. During non-trading hours, stock price data will reflect the most recent available closing price. Any mechanics dependent on live price feeds may behave differently during market closures.
