When you include an X creator handle in a PAIR, a portion of every trading fee generated by that token flows directly to the creator’s on-chain wallet. This page explains how that routing works, how creators link their wallets to their X handles, and what to expect from both the launcher and creator perspectives.

How Creator Fee Routing Works

Every PAIR token generates fees on each trade. The fee allocation you configure at launch determines what percentage goes to the creator payout bucket. That bucket is then distributed proportionally across all X creator handles listed in the PAIR. For example, in the PAIR @elonmusk × TSLA × DOGE:
  • If the creator payout slice is set to 50% of total fees, and @elonmusk is the sole listed creator, then @elonmusk receives 100% of that 50% slice.
  • If two creators are listed, the slice is split between them. See Multiple X Recipients for split mechanics.
Fee routing is executed on-chain — amounts, recipients, and timing are all visible in the transaction history of the token.

Linking a Creator Wallet to an X Handle

For fees to reach a creator, their X handle must be associated with a Solana wallet address in the PAIR protocol.
Creator wallet linking and on-chain verification of X handles is a feature of the PAIR protocol. The exact verification mechanism — including any identity-proofing steps — may be subject to change as the protocol develops. Check the PAIR app for the current status of this feature.
The general flow is:
  1. The creator connects their Solana wallet to the PAIR app.
  2. The creator links their X handle to that wallet, completing any verification steps required by the protocol.
  3. The association is recorded on-chain, so fee routing to that handle resolves to the verified wallet address.
Until a creator completes wallet linking, any creator-payout fees attributed to their handle will accrue rather than be lost. Once linking is complete, accumulated fees can be claimed.
If you launch a PAIR featuring an X creator who has not yet linked their wallet, creator fees will queue on-chain but will not be distributed until the creator completes verification. Confirm with any creators you intend to feature before launching, where possible.

From the Launcher Perspective

When you build a PAIR, you enter the X creator handle(s) you want to feature. You are responsible for:
  • Entering handles accurately. The handle you type is what gets embedded in the on-chain token configuration. A typo creates a reference to a different or non-existent account.
  • Setting the creator payout percentage. Use the fee allocation sliders during launch to decide what share of fees goes to the creator bucket. See Creating a PAIR for the full launch flow.
  • Understanding that wallet linking is the creator’s action. You cannot link a wallet on behalf of another X account. You can only enter their handle; they must complete verification independently.
If you are launching a PAIR in coordination with the featured creator, ask them to link their wallet in the PAIR app before or shortly after launch so fee routing begins immediately.

From the Creator Perspective

If your X handle has been included in a PAIR by another user, or if you are launching a PAIR featuring yourself:
  1. Connect your Solana wallet to the PAIR app.
  2. Link your X handle to that wallet through the protocol’s verification flow.
  3. Receive fees automatically once linking is confirmed — fees route to your wallet address on every qualifying trade.
  4. Claim any accrued fees that built up before you completed verification, if the protocol surfaces a claim action.
The ability for creators to proactively discover which PAIRs feature their handle, and to view accrued fees before wallet linking, depends on features that may still be in active development. Check the PAIR app for current availability.

On-Chain Transparency

All creator fee payouts are recorded as on-chain transactions. You can verify:
  • Which wallet address received a payout.
  • The amount paid per transaction.
  • The timestamp of each distribution.
This transparency applies to all parties — launchers, creators, and token holders can all inspect the fee routing history for any PAIR.
